Crossflow and counterflow cooling towers are two common designs used for efficient heat transfer in cooling tower systems. In crossflow towers, air and water flow perpendicular to each other, offering a compact design, easy maintenance, and lower power requirements. Counterflow towers, on the other hand, have air and water flowing in opposite directions, resulting in higher thermal efficiency and increased suitability for larger cooling applications.
